Adoptions from our shelter are as follows:

Canines are $85.00 adoption fee, that covers all essential vet care.

We waive adoption fees for Veterans with DD 214 and senior citizens of Fairfield Bay.

Reclaims

​

Each animal is held for 72 hours (in accordance with City Ordinance). After 72 hours if the animal has not been claimed it becomes the property of the City of Fairfield Bay and Goes up for adoption. Fees for Reclaim are as follows:

​

1st offense: $50.00 pick up fee plus $20.00 per day up to 72 hours. (Must supply proof of Current Rabies Vaccination and Current City Tags. After 72 hours the animal becomes property of City and the fee is $165 and the animal will have to be spayed/neutered in accordance with State Law.

2nd Offense: $100.00 pick-up and $50.00 per day up to 72 hours (Must supply Current Rabies Vaccination and Current City tags). After 72 hours the animal becomes property of the City and the fee  is $265.00 and the animal will have to spayed/neutered in accordance with state law.

3rd offense: $200.00 pick up plus $100.00 a day.

After 3rd offense Animal will not be released.

At anytime an animal is picked up the Animal Control Officers to reserve the right to issue citations such as Animal At large or Failure to obtain or renew City License

City Tags

Every animal that resides in the City Limits of Fairfield Bay must have a current City license. To obtain this license you may visit the Office at City Hall in Fairfield Bay.  You must have current proof of Rabies vaccination and the fee is: Altered Animals $10.00 and Unaltered Animals $20.00
